Product Details

Our Live King Lobsters from France weigh between 4–6 lbs each, offering an exceptional amount of sweet, tender meat. These jumbo lobsters are wild-caught in the cold, clean waters of France and shipped alive to ensure peak quality. With large claws, thick tails, and rich flavor, they are perfect for special dinners, holidays, and gourmet seafood lovers. Ideal for boiling, steaming, grilling, or splitting for the broiler.

Freshness & Shipping

We ship all King Lobsters live and pack them carefully in insulated containers with cold packs to maintain safe temperature throughout transit. All orders ship overnight nationwide.

Please note: While we take every precaution, live arrival cannot be guaranteed due to conditions outside our control during transit. All lobsters are guaranteed to arrive fresh and of premium quality. If you have concerns on arrival, photograph the lobster immediately and contact us within 2 hours of delivery.

For best results, cook the lobster the same day it arrives. If needed, keep it refrigerated at 34–40°F in the original breathable packaging — not submerged in water or sealed in airtight containers.

Size & Weight

Each lobster ranges from 4 to 6 lbs, providing significantly more meat than standard lobsters. These jumbo lobsters yield extra-large claws, thick tail meat, and plenty of body and knuckle meat. Because they are wild-caught, individual sizes may vary slightly, but all lobsters fall within the 4–6 lb range.

How to Cook

Live King Lobster is incredibly versatile. Cook to doneness at 8–10 minutes per pound — the shell will be bright red and the tail meat white and opaque when ready.

  • Steamed over boiling water — 8–10 min/lb (4 lb ≈ 35 min, 6 lb ≈ 55 min)
  • Boiled whole in heavily salted water — same rate: 8–10 min/lb
  • Grilled or broiled — split tail, garlic herb butter, 8–10 minutes until opaque
  • Chopped for lobster rolls, bisque, or pasta
  • Surf & Turf paired with premium steak

FAQ

Are the lobsters shipped live?

Yes, all King Lobsters are shipped live. While live arrival cannot be guaranteed due to transit conditions, all lobsters are guaranteed to arrive fresh and of premium quality.

How should I store the lobster when it arrives?

Keep refrigerated at 34–40°F in the original breathable packaging. Do not submerge in water or seal airtight. Cook within 24 hours for best quality.

How much meat does a 4–6 lb lobster yield?

Approximately 20–25% of total weight in meat — concentrated in the tail, claws, and knuckles. Significantly more usable meat than standard 1–1.5 lb market lobsters.

What cooking method is best?

Steaming or boiling at 8–10 minutes per pound is recommended. A 4 lb lobster takes ~35 minutes; a 6 lb lobster ~55 minutes. Grilling is also excellent for split tails.

Where are the lobsters sourced?

Harvested from the cold Atlantic waters off France — primarily the Brittany and Normandy fishing zones — where strict EU regulations and cold nutrient-rich currents produce dense, flavorful meat.
