Fresh Fish Delivery: Ordering, Shipping & Receiving Guide
Fresh Fish Delivery: How to Order and Receive Your Fish
Ordering fish online starts with choosing the right product condition, cut, and quantity. Global Seafoods separates Fresh Fish from Frozen Fish, so you can see how each item will be shipped before ordering. Compare both in our Fish collection.
Fresh or Frozen: What Arrives at Your Door?
Fresh fish is shipped chilled with gel ice via UPS Overnight. Frozen fish is shipped with dry ice; available services appear at checkout. An insulated package protects the order during transit, but it does not replace prompt refrigeration or freezing after delivery.
Choose fresh fish when your meal schedule allows prompt preparation. Frozen portions are convenient when you want to store several meals and thaw only what you need. Neither format alone establishes suitability for raw consumption.

Check the Product Before Ordering
- Check the species and the cut: whole fish, fillet, steak, or portions.
- Read the order weight and selected variant; photographs do not establish the number of pieces included.
- Check whether seasoning or marinade is included.
- Review the shipping service and arrange for someone to receive the package.
For example, fresh halibut portions and frozen Pacific halibut fillets are different products. Choose the page that matches your meal plan.
Shipping Schedule
Our regular dispatch windows are Monday–Tuesday for Ground and 3-Day, Monday–Wednesday for 2-Day, and Monday–Thursday for Overnight. Fresh fish uses Overnight service. Holidays and product availability can affect dispatch. We do not schedule weekend delivery. Review the shipping policy and checkout options for your order.
When the Package Arrives
Bring the package inside promptly and inspect the fish and packaging. Use a food thermometer when assessing temperature; touch alone is not a reliable measurement. Fresh seafood should be refrigerated at 40°F or below. Do not leave an order outside based on a promised number of hours: weather, transit, and packaging conditions vary.

Photograph damaged packaging or an apparent product problem and contact Global Seafoods promptly. Follow the published order and shipping policies. Do not taste fish to decide whether it is safe.
Storage and Preparation
Refrigerate fresh fish promptly and follow the package instructions. Keep frozen products frozen until you need them. Thaw fish in the refrigerator; follow the label’s directions for opening or removing vacuum packaging before thawing. Keep raw fish separate from ready-to-eat food.
For cooked fish, FDA recommends an internal temperature of 145°F. See FDA seafood handling guidance for receiving, storage, thawing, and preparation advice.
