Poke Bowl Nutrition: Portions, Sauces & Product Labels
There is no single nutrition value for a poke bowl
The result depends on the fish, its portion, any included marinade, the rice or other base, and the toppings. A plain-fish nutrition table does not describe a finished seasoned Poké product.
Build the calculation from your actual ingredients
- Read the fish product’s nutrition label and serving size. Check whether the listed values include its seasoning.
- Measure the amount used in each bowl rather than assuming one package equals one serving.
- Add the label values for rice, vegetables and toppings in the amounts you use.
- Include dressing, mayonnaise, sesame oil and garnishes. A small-looking addition can change the total.
Protein comes mainly from the fish and any additions such as edamame. Rice contributes carbohydrates; oils, avocado and mayonnaise contribute fat. Amounts and fish species matter, so this guide does not give a universal calorie or omega-3 number.
Sauces and allergens
Check fish, soy, wheat, sesame and egg ingredients where applicable. “Tamari” or “spicy mayo” does not by itself establish an allergen-free recipe. If the fish is already seasoned, begin with a small amount of extra dressing. Compare sodium on the actual labels.

Choosing fish and preparation
For pregnancy, breastfeeding and children, consult the species-specific FDA advice about eating fish; different tuna species are not interchangeable in that guidance.
Raw or undercooked seafood carries additional foodborne-illness risk, especially for higher-risk groups. A “sushi-grade” label, freezing or acidic marinade is not a guarantee of safety. FDA recommends cooking most seafood to 145°F. Follow package instructions for thawing and keep perishables refrigerated; see FDA seafood handling guidance.
